House Representatives Will Vote To Vacate Speaker's Chair

December 6, 2024 - House Republicans and Nationalists are set to vote today to either vacate the chair of the Speaker Of The House, or to allow her to continue her role as the 32nd Speaker Of The House. The vote comes as frustrations with her anti-border security rhetoric angered her staunchest allies and supporters, including former House Speaker Braden Harris and Representative Patty Wilcox.

If the motion to vacate passes, Speaker LeWolf would only be removed from her role as House Speaker, but would retain her seat in the House as the Representative. However, if ousted, she may attempt to seek election to another term as House Speaker, but it is very unlikely that she would be able to successfully win another term as House Speaker in the House-only vote. The public vote could place her as the top contender but that could be overruled if House members vote in a majority for the least voted for candidate. The purpose of voters going out to vote for a particular speaker candidate is to allow members of Congress to gauge their favorability.

The House is preparing for Matthew Carrington to take over as Speaker Pro Tempore.
