Gretchen LeWolf Sworn In As 32nd Speaker

NOVEMBER 10, 2022 -

Gretchen LeWolf was sworn in as the 32nd Speaker Of The House Of The People yesterday in the House Chamber, and was greeted with applause. She had served as Deputy House Speaker from November 10, 2019 until her swearing in. She was sworn in alongside her Deputy appointee, Matthew Carrington. During her first address as House Speaker, LeWolf promised to serve as Speaker, in an unbiased manner, and issued that she would seek to better Government through transparency, and honesty. She also announced her plans to ensure that Debates remain orderly and organized.

"I promise to ensure that our great House is working for ALL Jesstopian citizens. I want to ensure that it remains an organized, yet busy Chamber. I look forward to working each and everyone of you as this Chamber's speaker."

Speaker LeWolf her current term will expire on November 10, 2025, but she says she is going to run for a second term.
